Facing Fears at Ninety-Three!

Never to old to try something new! 

On a beautiful Autumn morning six Uniting aged care residents ticked the SKYWALK on the Sydney Tower Eye off their bucket lists. This high-adrenaline adventure gave them the opportunity to view the turquoise city from the highest vantage point. 

The group in their 80s and 90s, with the assistance of four carers from Uniting, conquered the tallest building in Sydney today, experiencing the Sydney Tower Eye’s 360-degree Observation Deck, before bravely stepping into the open air, 268 metres above the city, for a breath-taking SKYWALK tour.

Uniting resident Marlene Corbitt, 91 years old, from India, said, “Today I was invited to complete Sydney’s highest adventure activity, the SKYWALK on the Sydney Tower Eye. It was quite challenging but I’m so glad I came! It was so different to all the other activities I’ve done before and I have quite the sense of achievement.  I’m grateful to Uniting for organising this for us, it’s really important to have adventures still to look forward to.”

Fellow resident Phaik Noeh, from Malaysia, said, “It’s a once in a lifetime experience for anyone who comes to Sydney! Don’t miss it, because I nearly missed it. It wasn’t on my bucket list, but now I think it should be on everyone’s bucket list!”
